JOBS Tips
Getting a "good" job involves in three steps.
- building a possitive attitude and this means knowing where you are heading.
- building your marketability and this includes getting experience and making good resume.
- the last step which most people notice is knowing where, when, and how to look for a job.
BUILDING POSSITIVE ATTITUDE
The first step which is the most improtant step is identifying yourself and knowing what
kind of job you are looking for. This is very important even if the job you are looking for
is a summer job or a part-time job. If you identify why you are looking for a job, then everything
else will become allot easier for you.
if you are a student there are two things why you probably want to get a summer job,
It is most likely that you are looking for experience and some extra cash.
Most students overlook the experience part and as a result they pay too
much attention to the money side.
the reason why it is important to get experience is that you need to be
looking at the long future. it is better to take a job that pays $100 per week
which provides good experience that a job that will pay $400 that will not
get you any experience. The reason is that experience pays you back later
especially when it comes to identifying your future goal. However this is
not always the case because many students happen to need money badly due to
the increase in the university expenses over the years, so if you have to
take a job for it's pay take it.
BUILDING YOUR MARKETABILITY
The seccond step you need to take has a lot to do with first step and this is
making your self look good on your Resume and the only way to make yourself
look good on paper is to get a lot of experience and to make your self look good
on the actual job. The way you behave and work when you are at your job is
the key to brightening your Resume.
There are some tips you need to know about your Resume
- Your Resume is suppost to be very unique and this means that there is no correct
formula for making a resume. The way you make your resume has a lot to do with how much
experience you have and the type of job you are looking for
- if you don't have many experience Your SKILLS section should go on the top
because You want the employer to evaluate you according to your skills since you don't have
much of a experience.
- Always spell check it.
- Make sure someone else checks for you your Resume
- When you are having your interview make sure you try to be as honest as possible
believe me it will work, but don't also let your self down by mentioning too many negatives about you.
However if you do have too many negatives you need to rebuild your self by going back to the step one that we
have mentioned.
-
It is always good Idea to get lots of references from only people you really trust
GETTING THE JOB YOU WANT
The last thing you need to know about getting a good job is knowing where, when and how
to search for that job. Remember this is were people usually try to figure out before going
through the initial steps.
In most(not always) cases the worst way to get a job is through small agencies. Why? you may ask.
Well, the problem with most agencies is that they will ask you for money and the main reason why
you need a job is to gain money. Most small agencies are being operated by people like you, so if
you can go to the telephone book and call companies what more will an agency do for you.
Having said this there are lots of exceptions to this situation. Some agencies are known
to have connections to some companys and the only way to get a job from that particular company is
by going through that agency.
The last thing I want to say about this is that as much as 80% of jobs are found through two things.
First by asking friends and relatives about job openings. Second try to call places known to hire
people by using your local telephone book.
Well, The rest is up to you. It depends on how you build your self and how you handle your self
so good luck!!.
